Dear Friends,
We rejoice to report that we have made it safely to the Solomon Islands. God provided strength and grace along the way, and we now begin the necessary processes for us to be able to conduct gospel work on Malaita. On September 15, we were in a car accident. Thankfully, the Lord kept all of us safe, but our car was totaled. We rented a car the last month of deputation. The first of October, we moved out of the missions house at Hilltop Baptist in Indiana, PA and began packing our boxes for the Solomons. On October 25, I passed my Private Pilot Check-ride. Big thanks to everyone who provided money for fuel. It is our hope to be able to use aviation to gain access to more remote regions of the Solomons and there preach Christ.
The last week of October, we said goodbye to family and friends and prepared to move to the other side of the world! On November 3rd, we flew out of Kansas City and arrived in the Solomons on the 5th. The boys did a great job traveling. Both of them slept most of the way! We are 16 hours a head of Eastern Time, and we are adjusting well to the time change.
We purchased a vehicle with the generous support from everyone. The vehicle is a 2007 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado and should arrive at the port sometime late December.
The Lord has given us contacts on the island of Malaita who are helping us find housing. We are slowly picking up the language as we explore around the area and converse with the locals. Douglas and George are not quite sure about what is going on but they are loving life. Please pray on our behalf regarding the following:
That our purpose to preach Christ will ever be renewed in our hearts.
That we will adapted to living in a new culture.
That all of us will learn and understand the language.
That we will find a good long-term house in Auki, Malaita.
That all our paperwork will go through with no complications.
Constrained by Love,
The Lee Family
