Dear Friends,
We rejoice to report that our support is nearly 90% and we continue to plan on our departure to the Solomon Islands this fall. In March and April, the deputation trial has taken us to Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Texas. God has been good to us in giving us safety and strength throughout the last couple months.
During the time between meetings, I have continued to work towards my pilot license. Currently, I have over 20 hours logged. I am grateful for the instructor that God has arranged me to work with here in PA. I passed my solo flight on May 5th which is a big accomplishment towards the end goal of a pilots license. I can now fly without my instructor which will allow me to get hours of flying for my final test flight.
In typical missionary fashion, our car is still giving us issues. There seems to be some kind of short in the system that is drawing power and causing the battery to be dead as seemingly random times. In all of this, God has given me ample opportunity and motivation to learn more about vehicle repair, so there is a bright side.
Melodie is doing well in her pregnancy, she is currently 30 weeks along and has not been experiencing any sickness. The due date is July 14th and is approaching rapidly. We plan to drive to Vermont and stay with friends from our sending church during the birth.
Doug is starting to use short sentences instead of the one word guess what I am saying game. He has loved the missions house that we are staying in because there is a yard and porch for him to play outside. Currently, his favorite activities are throwing sticks and rocks as well as coloring.
In May and June we have meetings in Virginia, New Hampshire, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Ohio.
Several things to pray for:
Pray that we will be able to raise the last of our support before our departure in November 2023.
Pray for good health for Melodie and baby George.
Pray for safety on the roads and that the car will survive until we are finished with deputation.
Pray that I would be able to complete aviation school before departure this fall.
