Dear Friends,
We praise the Lord for the new addition to the family! Baby George Philip Lee arrived July 10th at 5:55pm. He weighed 6 lbs, 14 oz and was 19 in. We praise the Lord for a healthy baby and momma. It is our plan that the next prayer letter that you receive from us will be from the Solomon Islands. We are hoping to depart at the end of October.
The last two months we have traveled to Montana, New Hampshire, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Kentucky. The odometer on our car has finally surpassed 200k miles and we are praying that it will make us to October.
Several things that we would covet your prayers regarding: 1. Baby George needs to get his passport. We have filled out and expedited the paperwork and now we
wait for it to return. Once we have George’s passport, we will buy tickets. 2. We are setting aside money to begin the process of buying a vehicle for ministry use in the Solomons. The way they do this in the Solomons is you buy a vehicle via money wire from a used car dealership in Japan and then have to pay to have it shipped to the islands. It ends up taking about 3 to 6 months. We will pay to have it shipped from Japan to Guadalcanal and then to Malaita. This way ends up being several thousand dollars cheaper than buying one that is already shipped to the Solomons. We have raised about $8,000 for the vehicle and are in need of an additional $5,000. The vehicle we are looking at is about $8,000, but the additional cost is for transport as well as fees at the port. If you would like an itemized breakdown of these expenses, please let me know. 3. Please pray that we will have
good weather for my checkride, this is the last step in obtaining my pilots license. The checkride has been delayed 3 times due to poor weather conditions. The new date has been set for September 19th. 4. Pray that we will be able to find economical tickets when that times comes.
As far as packing goes, we are pretty much all set. We have all of our stuff ready to be stored at our families house and then what we have decided to take has all been packed. We praise the Lord for bringing us to this next step as we prepare to move out of the U.S. and to the Solomon Islands to begin indigenous church planting work. Thank you all for helping us get to this point.
Constrained by Love,
The Lee Family
