What is Project Everywhere?

Our mission

It is not necessary to name your ministry to be biblical, however, we wanted to be able to point back to the Word of God and be clearly identified with the Great Commission in our ministry. In the conclusion of Mark’s Gospel, it is said that the early believers went forth and preached everywhere, this verse made a profound impact on the direction of my life. God is clear, He wants His people to get the good news of Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection everywhere.

In our pursuit of getting the Gospel everywhere, we believe God would have us move to the Solomon Islands to reach the nearly 350 populated islands: planting indigenous baptist churches and making disciples of Jesus Christ. We are confident that this is the next step that God would have for us in order to reach the unreached. In preparation for the mission field, my wife obtained her nursing degree and I am working to obtain my Private Pilot License.

Our plan is to start in Guadalcanal and work to learn the language and then move on to church plant in Malaita. I have several contacts that will make our initial work go more smoothly, however, much work is needed to be done to see the gospel preached on these unreached islands. There are nearly 350 populated islands that make up the Solomon Islands. I already speak the form of pidgin that is most common in that region which will prove to be invaluable as we carry out the great commission.

It is our desire to plant indigenous Baptist churches. We intend to start the church plant with the end in mind. The goal is to have churches that are sustained and led by Solomon Islanders. This is no insignificant goal, oftentimes ministries abroad end when the foreign missionary leaves. This is heartbreaking, no doubt, for those who have poured their lives and as well as countless dollars to see a gospel-work in such a needy place. We will strive to make the churches we plant in the Solomons as independent as possible thus removing their potential dependency on foreign support. In the end, this model seems most effective at getting the gospel to as many people and generations as possible.

IT ALL STARTED WITH A BURDEN...

Christ commanded His children to go into all the world and preach the gospel, and in this day and age, it is easier than ever. The world lies wide open waiting for Christians to obey Christ and go. The simplicity of traveling internationally is ever before us. If one would so desire, he could travel to the opposite side of the globe in less than a day. With a little planning, he could be in a completely unreached tribe or village in just several days. This concept would have been inconceivable to men of God in the past like Adoniram Judson, David Livingstone, Hudson Taylor, William Carey and many more. Yet this is the open door that has been made available for my generation. We actually have the ability to go everywhere!

Jesus made several interesting statements regarding international evangelism of which I think we ought to consider the meaning.

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing themin the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus said that He would be with us even unto the end of the world; maybe God intended us to go even to the end of the world.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 1:8

The intent of God was that believers were to be witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and (literally) the uttermost part of the earth. If I were to believe in a literal, plenary, interpretation of scripture then it would necessitate that I believe these words ask for a literal interpretation. But there is one more passage that compels me even more.

Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature…So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. And they went forth, and preached every where…

Mark 16:15; 19-20a

Wow! Jesus told His followers to go into all the world and preach the gospel and then the book of Mark concludes with His disciples being obedient to Christ's command and went everywhere! Time would fail to discuss passages such as Romans 10:13-14; Acts 4:12; or Matthew 9:37-38 and many others that deal with evangelism.

The apostles and the early disciples went everywhere and preached the gospel (Mk. 16:20a) in obedience to their Lord's command. By God's grace, I intend to do the same. Join me in this effort and be apart of taking the gospel unto all nations.

Now, more than ever, we need God's people with great boldness to rise up with God's power and preach the gospel - everywhere!
